Sunray Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1949. The department provides structure, wildland protection to its community. Located in Sunray, Texas in Moore County; Sunray VFD has a proud tradition of community and service before self.

We are an all-volunteer department with around 10 firefighters from different backgrounds within in the community. With 7 pieces of apparatus to respond with, the department can handle almost any type of emergency. Including grass fires, structure fires, vehicle accidents and fires, and most other calls routine in the fire service. We also assist in mutual aid requests from surrounding departments and agencies in the Texas Panhandle.

Our department and members are certified by the State Firefighters' and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas. We participate in area schools and classes and do in house training in association with Dumas Fire Department.
